Is there an official GTA 5 mobile version?

No. Rockstar sells Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, and there is no official iOS or Android version. A “GTA 5 APK” or mobile download isn’t from Rockstar. If you own GTA V on a PlayStation or Xbox, you can play it on your phone by streaming it from your console.

Why a GTA 5 APK isn’t official

Rockstar puts its official mobile games on its own pages and in the App Store and Google Play. GTA V isn’t one of them. An APK from another website is not from Rockstar, so there is no way to know what it really contains.

Play your own GTA V on a phone

Both console makers let you stream a game from your own console to your phone. The game runs on the console, so you need to own GTA V there, and you need a good internet connection.

From a PS5 or PS4

  1. Install PS Remote Play from Google Play or the App Store.
  2. On the PS5, turn on Settings > System > Remote Play > Enable Remote Play.
  3. Turn the console on or put it in rest mode, then sign in to the app with the same account.

From an Xbox

  1. Make sure GTA V is installed and the console is on and online.
  2. On your phone, open xbox.com/remoteplay in a supported browser.
PS Remote Play
If you own GTA V on PS5 or PS4, the free PS Remote Play app (Google Play or the App Store) lets you play it on your phone. Your console does the work and must be on or in rest mode.
