Sourcing policy

Every fact on GTABuddy has a status and a source. Here is how we decide both.

Status labels

Status: Official
Rockstar has confirmed this in its own published material.
Status: Verified
GTABuddy has reproduced this in the game.
Status: Strong evidence
Credible evidence supports this, but Rockstar has not confirmed it.
Status: Rumor
This claim is circulating but has not been verified.
Status: False
Reliable evidence contradicts this claim.
Status: Unknown
There is not enough evidence to say yet.

A fact can only be labeled Official when Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive has published it, for example on Rockstar’s website or the Rockstar Store. Our systems reject an Official label that lacks such a source.

Source order

When sources disagree, the higher source wins:

  1. Current material from Rockstar Games or Take-Two Interactive.
  2. Official platform and store pages, such as PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store.
  3. Gameplay tests we can repeat ourselves (after release).
  4. Primary technical or document sources.
  5. Established, reputable games publications.
  6. Community findings.
  7. Rumors and leaks, which are never shown as confirmed.

Labels apply to single facts

One page can mix confirmed and unconfirmed details. That’s why each fact carries its own label, rather than one label for the whole page. Open “Sources and status” under any fact to see where it comes from and when we last checked it.
